All Wrapped Up - Top 5 Coats

Following my top winter boots post, I thought I'd do another A/W themed post. This time, the focus is on: coats. Grabbing a coat or jacket is the thing that makes summer ending actually OK for me...Anyone else?!

If you follow me on Instagram, it really should come as no shock that this is my number 1 coat for this season. Similar to the dreamy Acne Velocite (another true fav) I love the combination of tan & black together. I consider this an investment piece, as although the price point is high; it isn't a 'trend' led item, and you'll be reaching for it for years to come.
£998, available from AllSaints.com

Massive pockets - check, the perfect lapels - check, tortoise shell buttons - check, versatile & warm - check. Yup, this is a killer choice. With just over 50% wool content, this will be a great coat to grab over an already layered outfit. Would love it styled with black combat boots.
£125, available from TopShop.com

Sometimes, you wanna feel cuddly. And warm. And snug. Ok, so you pretty much want to be a teddy bear. This is what winter does to us TBH. This faux fur peacoat from Free People ticks all these boxes, and is available in 3 easy-to-style colours.

When you've been wearing maybe a little too much black (hmm, is that possible?) or muted tones, it's nice to add a little colour in there. Introducing the Coach Military Patch Coat - a bit of colour and embroidery details go a long way, without the need for feeling like you're part of Joseph's Technicolour Dreamcoat. I especially love the black and yellow cuffs - and great for keeping the warmth in.
£995, available from Coach.com

Fully lined, with two side pockets and handy waist tie, this classic coat from And Other Stories will go with everything you own. Also available in solid black - which I possibly, maybe, just purchased...opps. (Tip: sign up to their newsletter for 10% off)
£165, available from AndOtherStories.com

NYC Part I

Back from NYC. Man! I forgot how hectic that city is. Def loved the SoHo area most, with more greenery, space and independent shops. Experienced pretty much every season whilst there, too. When we arrived it was 23 degrees C - that's pretty much British summer weather - and when we left it was 8 degrees C - MADESS I tell you. Oh, and don't mind me really enjoying that pretzel in the last pic...You gotta eat with your eyes closed to truly appreciate; take note.

My Ultimate, Top 5 Black Winter Boots

It's true - winter is coming...And there is nothing I like more than a solid black boot throughout the freezing months, and even into spring.  I've listed my top 5 boots around at the moment, with something out there to suit all occasions.

A wardrobe staple, the combat boot - updated, oh-so-beautifully, by Gucci. With gold tone hardware, web-strap with buckle (this can also be removed) and a little height, these will go far this winter. I'd love them paired with mini dresses, oversized sweaters and velvet blazers. A boot you can truly live in.
£715, available from Gucci.com

Nothing says sharp & ready to conquer like a super pointed boot or shoe. There's something so badass about a skinny trouser or jean, finished with pointed footwear. Show your Balenciaga love-affair (just me?) with these killer ankle boots. With a small kitten heel (making them great for hours of wear) they feature the logo printed all over in gold. One for the Christmas list? I'd say so.
£645, available from Mytheresa.com

Elongate your legs, stay warm and add height all at the same time...boom! Forever something you'll return to, these over the knee boots in solid black are a statement without the need for fuss.
£69.99, available from Mango.com

In another life, you were a cowgirl - am I right? Add the perfect Western touch with these TP babies. With heavy silver hardware, leather stitching details and a slightly squared-off toe, they're a boot you'll be staring at every.single.time you wear them.
£326, available from MatchesFashion.com

Also known as: the going out boot. You know there's going be approx.7,690 parties to attend this festive season, and these guys will pair perfectly with dresses, pant suits and blazers. I'm never gonna have a super-girly boot in this list - why would you need to when you can look badass in these guys?
£198, (currently 20% off!), available from AllSaints.com

The Cape

A cape has been on my wish-list for years. The only ones I could ever find that I wanted to purchase were by Chloe, and I didn't fancy the price-tag for something I was uncertain how much I'd wear...and then I found this affordable terracotta guy last week, and I went for it. It's quite lightweight - so perfect for this transitional period we're in, where a real warmer of a coat isn't needed. It features excellent pockets (if you know me, you know pockets are a must) sharp lapels and double-breasted buttons. I paired it with black and houndstooth - plus a leather beret, and my go-to Celine sunglasses. The perfect Sunday outfit.
Cape - (currently on sale!) La Redoute
Jumper - Balenciaga
Skirt - Zara (sold out, other options here, here, here)

Like A Teddy Bear

Say hello to my latest coat acquisition - The Teddy Bear. I am in love with this cosy thing! It has blanket qualities, excellent lapels and deep pockets. I bought it one size larger than usual, (size S is pictured) to allow for thick jumpers - and I personally always enjoy an oversized, slouchy look. Layered over a sheer shirt and tucked into my over-worn (4 year old) Mom jeans, it's a pretty basic, autumnal toned outfit - with the best black accessories

A Beauty Memo

I felt like a super mini beauty post wouldn't be the worst idea, right? Right!
I've recently found some new favs - that have actually become staples - so I thought I'd share these guys with you.
When travelling, I always carry this little black mirror by Anna Sui - it's super lightweight & great for daily make-up application, and pretty damn cute to boot. Firstly - I wash my face with the Eau Thermale Avene (god, that's a mouthful) Cleanance Gel - it's a simple cleanser with no nasties. Next up, I use the Mario Badescu Rose Water toner - it smells soooo goooood, and feels like it gets right into the skin. Back to Eau Thermale - I've been fully addicted to
their Recovery Cream. It's super hydrating, calming, soothing, and doesn't feel oily on my skin.
I love a few drops of Tan Luxe added in as well, which is great for adding a cheeky natural glow. As someone who doesn't wear heavy foundation, I feel these drops are gonna be a major bonus during the cooler months.
Shop the items mentioned below!
P.S on those mornings when a certain toddler has kept me up or the moon is causing aggro again, I reach for these eye pads by Skyn before anything else. I adore them.
